They're all over the rims. Thought it would be cool to show.

Those look similar to the scratches I have on a lot of quarters - they're from a worn die as far as I know.

Those are deep flow lines caused by die wear.

Yep this is without a doubt just die wear. Don't see an RPM

The flow lines are attaching itself to the mint mark, headed for the rim.

When a die strikes a coin, the metal flows into the devices and across the fields. Over time, this metal flow erodes the die, just like a flowing river erodes the Earth. The erosion leaves tiny rivers in the die and those rivers get transferred to the coin's surface as lines. As the die wears, the erosion becomes worse making the lines more visible on the coin. Sometimes they can even drag the device's edge towards the rim of the coin. That's what is happening with yours.

For a while I drew a line at 1964 when saving or even looking at Nickels. Think because the mint mark was switched to the obverse the following year.

See lots of die wear, but no RPM as of yet. Still wondering the MM style. Maybe MMS-005 said to be used mainly in 1963 and rare or less common for 1964 but hard for me to tell for sure. Thanks, Doug.
