A month ago I noticed I had not really made much progress on my Mexico type set that I first posted two years ago. (First posted in this thread) https://goccf.com/t/183956At that time I had 41 empty holes. So I started to put some effort into filling some of those holes. Today 3 coins came in the mail, and have 4 more coins coming soon. That will leave 4 empty holes in the main section, and 3 holes on the gold page. Not sure how many CCF members have any interest in collecting coins from Mexico. But doing this set has really opened my eyes to some collectable coins from our southern neighbors. I have been amazed on how often I have been outbid on ebay for certain coins. Because I have been doing this set, I have learn about more coins to watch for when going through dealers foreign coin buckets. Here are the coins I received today. 1956 10 peso, 1906 50 centavo and 1915 2 centavo

GR58, this is a great collection of your Mexico type set. Quote: Not sure how many CCF members have any interest in collecting coins from Mexico. But doing this set has really opened my eyes to some collectable coins from our southern neighbors. I'm still looking for a Hacienda Coin.

Thanks bopc1. I really am surprised at the closer I get to completing this set, the more I like it. Just won another auction on ebay. Just three empty holes left in the main section.

Bummer I should have emailed you before I had sold off my type set. It had all coins but missing some of the silvers that would have helped you. :*( I am sorry. Anyways you are doing quite well for yourself though! Very nice set and good luck!

MK .... Thanks for thinking about helping ... It would have been interesting to see what coins you had in your set.
The challenge of filling these holes has been fun..
The 1918/1919 50 centavo has been elusive ... I feel I will have two of the last three in a week or so.
Not going to guess on the last 50 centavo

I won another auction today on ebay. Once those coins come I will be down to two empty holes. One of those I might win tonight. A question I have. What are thoughts about buying a coin from Mexico, off ebay? It is not a expensive coins, should be less than $20. But it is a coin I have not seen listed very much.

Nice additions. I do not think there would be a problem buying lower priced Mexican coins on ebay, but I would be better if I knew more about them (to judge authenticity).

Some more coins came in the post today. I am very happy with the 1921 Dos Peso. The sellers pictures were not the good, mine are not much better. The coin really looks good in hand, I think I made a really good buy on this one. I have been outbid several times trying to get one. It is nice having another page completed. The other two coin that came were also hard to find. They are not expensive, but I might have over paid just to fill the holes. 1970 one centavo and 1979 ten centavo I am down to two empty holes, if I can keep focused maybe I will pick them up this week. (Two holes, not counting gold)

Oops ... After posting ... Sitting down for coffee and the news. I see I put the Dos peso in the wrong hole. Will have to update when I get the last two coins.

Picture looks good to me. Nice grab. I have put a coin in the wrong hole before. It was not funny.

I noticed that too! I did that with mine before, put in an 8 Reales in a 10 pesos hole because it fit and I didn't much care for the actual coin. What kind of type set can it be without an 8 Reales, ya know?
