Good afternoon,

I have this Bicentennial Quarter to see if you can grade using my new lighting. This is mostly a test of my new light, my outdoor halogen bulb. I'm plagued with poor lighting in this room so this bulb really lights the place up. Safety is always first, so I attempted to photograph this quarter with a halogen bulb from a great distance. I wanted to get others opinions on this lighting perhaps different angles. My next item will be a better camera since I still use my cell phone. If you can grade it what would it be? Its got a nice yellow tone to it.

Thank you,
Jeremy

Is the color true? It kinda looks like your white balance might be off a bit.

The bulb is fine it may just be the quarter. Here's another photo of a comparison quarter out of my pocket. This entire Bicentennial set is very yellow. I will pull out the others that this quarter went with. The Ike, half, dime, and nickel are all bright yellow from the same mint set. The penny is dark red.

That's a nice tone on the 1976 quarter.

you might want to add a light diffuser so that the shiny spots don't appear. there are lots of ways to DIY one, just google it.

I use paper but I don't put it anywhere near the halogen bulb. That's how fires start, safety first. I use the paper next to me while the light is far away. I should of thought of this before.

Nice lighting, tone and detail. A little shine, in my opinion is fine as it shows the coins bu quality. I like the lighting effect on the 2nd set of photos.

I was trying to see what this quarter would grade. I have a lot of unopened bicentennial mint sets (75 and 76) my father collected back in the day. A lot of them have toned yellow seeing them in their original plastic. I know they are common but I may have some that can hit pretty high in mint state. I will continue with my lighting fiasco.

I kind of thought it was toned when I first looked at it. I think it's a beautiful toned coin. Nice!
