Local Coin Show Purchase Today: 1888-S Morgan

Darth Morgan Pillar of the Community United States 2815 Posts	Posted 09/10/2016 2:14 pm Today was the 57th annual West TN Collectors Club Coin Show. I found an 1888-S Morgan dollar to add to the set. This one has a pleasing bronze patina throughout. I've been shopping for this particular coin "part-time" for the past couple of years. It's good to mark this one off the list. Among the many lesser 1888-S dollars I saw there this one was the cheapest at $120.00- not a steal, but a fair price nonetheless. I also picked up some more silver proof Ikes and several English pennies. I got my daughter some Christmas copper rounds to add to her little stash. I have 18 left to complete the set, and it will take a tremendous commitment to get them all. I can't say for sure if this will ever happen, though. It's a tough thing, and as is stands right now I don't have the drive and desire I once had. I'm at the 5 year "crossroad" for coin collecting. They say that if you make it past 5 years there's a good chance you'll be a collector for life. I still enjoy it, but interest has waned. Report this Post to the Staff
