An I know ill hear it about my one crappy pic. There is hair detail an all. Just have had a hard time with that as well. Advice is pretty much needed

You're right about the picture not being very good . I think what we have here is a case of good old fashioned zinc rot. The nano-film of copper has been nicked or abraded and the exposed zinc (99% of the shield cents) has begun to oxidize.

and by the looks of it it probably has some glue on it as well!
