Capped Die Strike? Help For A Newbie.

cwb Pillar of the Community United States 3463 Posts	Posted 09/14/2016 10:07 pm A Capped Die happens when a coin sticks to the die and becomes cup shaped as it continues to strike other planchets. These are sometimes referred to as "bottle caps". What you have is a struck through die cap error. It is one of the coins that was minted while the other coin was still stuck to the die. Nice find!
