I find a lot of error and variety coins. Thought it would be interesting to post some here and get some help with the ones I can't figure out. This one is a 1942-S with a split upper serif. Mint mark position is closest to RPM-005, but really doesn't seem to fit and no die markers match (photo of right wheat shows no die crack). Comments? Thanks!

Is there any sign of doubling anywhere on the obverse? How is the overall wear on the coin?

It is a RPM, but I didn't see a match on coppercoins. It maybe just a minor example. Save it for now. Wexler may get his site up to speed sometime in the future with all of his listings. If anyone would list it, it would be him.

Thanks for the comments. The overall coin is probably a solid VF, so pretty good detail for seeing things. The only doubling of note is a bit of micro-doubling under the LIBERTY for which I am including a photo. But, I tend to agree with Coop that it is an RPM. Yes, a minor one, but that is a big split for it not to at least be one of the RPM lists. I will do as recommended an save it and see if it shows up at some point. Thanks again for the help, it is much appreciated.

Speaking of updates and coppercoins, I'd love to see that happen. You know the man, coop; how retired is retired?

Jeez, tropical bats, where are my manners!!? to the Coin Community Family. I hope you stick around and show us more new specimens or just absorb the collective wisdom the other members have to offer. Are you also a chiropteralogist?

Thanks Biedercoins. I have checked this forum now and again and always found quality content, so figured I'd sign up and toss out some coins I find interesting.
And yes, I am a chiropterologist by profession, so when not in some foul-smelling jungle cave I have more than enough time to stare at Lincoln and his surroundings. I wonder if they'd let me use my usual avatar of a bat on here?

Tadarida? No problem. Yes, if it fits in the square, it'll work. My advice is #1 Read the forum rules, then, #2, intoduce yourself in the New Member area. Pleased to meet you and see you around.
