Found this looking through my change today. I know not the greatest condition. But before I tossed it back to pile I have a couple questions about it.

Is this a Die Crack? If so Is it considered a "Spike Head"? If so it is my 1st one.

Yep it is a die crack - but not considered a Spike Head - above the neck basically is a Spike Head as far as I know - This type of crack is pretty common on the quarters.
Rest in Peace

Looks like a little crack from the bottom of the hair to the L. Not a spike-head.

Ty Coincents. I was looking for the definition of a Spike Head...but couldn't find one, just pictures. Now I have a better understanding of them

Edit: DOH!! just found this on CCF

Actually the crack extends beyond the L to rim in same direction...but is very light. Like it is just starting to crack there. Hard to show in pictures. I believe LDS coins that were pressed with this die will show this part much better.

A Spiker goes anywhere on the head, and to the rim.
