I have a lot of proof set coins from 1981 to current date some of the 1999 ones the State Quarters have got this weird rainbow Tint and some of the other state quaryers have a gold tint would this be a plating error or any type of error at all? Is this something even worth looking intonow or wait some years and then maybe?

Sounds like the coins have started toning. It is not unusual for coins from the 80's and 90's to take on a golden tint or hue while in the original packaging. There is quite a market for certain coins with eye catching, rainbow toning. Not everyone likes toning, some collectors prefer their coins to be original, blast white.
So, probably not an error of any sort.

I agree. They might look nice. I want to see them.
