Quote: Tricky and misleading, as some people such as yourself will take it to mean it'll be the only set Yes, right, I was thinking about it as "one and only", reading the description. Although knowing the mint - they will try to offer all the variation of the sets. I liked it, but feel that "must to have" the same, but without gold plated / colorized coins

I'm certain this 150th set will have a non-gold plated counterpart and likely several others as well

I'm quite certain there will be a 150th anniversary Uncirculated Set considering that's what to be circulated. It appears 2016 isn't going to be a banner year for RCM in terms of NCLT sales overall and so I expect they'll attempt to yank as much revenue as they can with various versions of the 150th theme, 1 oz, 2 oz, 5 oz, all kinds of possibilities. That's not a bad thing however, it's a natural bridge between traditional and NCLT collecting. Quote:
December 6, 2016.
Thanks! I expected the designs to be revealed on Dec 31st amidst New Year celebrations in anticipation of the special anniversary year that was about to commence.

When/how do "common" people like me get to see this offer?

The RCM typically posts each month's new coins on its web site on the first Tuesday of the month. MC members have up to a week's notice before this public release (depending on their MC Level). Based on this pattern of Tuesday releases and a week's MC notice, I would guess that the set will be visible on the RCM web site to non-MC members within a week and likely no later than next Tuesday.

Don't worry, for $229.95 this set will not be going anywhere quickly. The 2016 set (same mintage and price) is still available from the RCM. Cheers!

The 2012 Silver set, that contains couple of unique coins, being the last one with the Penny coin, still could be find (not at RCM) at the dealers or ebay for issue or bit less.

The set is not flippable because of the high mintage of 20,000. It will appeal to people who want a souvenir for the 150th anniversary of Canada and people who collect silver dollars which there is a lot on this forum.
So anyone on this forum buying it? I'm unndecidd about it.

I'm certain this set will do better than the 2013-2016 sets, so I was thinking about it but decided if I'm going to spend $200+, it'll be on a 10oz bar. Coins don't seem like a smart investment anymore.

I ordered it, I think besides the gold gilded silver dollar, the other special 150th anniversary circulation coins in silver proof is unique and I'd welcome it to my collection.

I asked if this was the only set. The official RCM answer was "We have an entire suite of CANADA 150 products slated for 2017. Saying "wait and see" is never what we like to do, but in this case, we have to keep it under wraps at the moment."

Quote: So anyone on this forum buying it? I'm undecided about it. No, not without seeing the rest of the designs. Surprised it's not being offered at $250.00! As many have already commented there are lots of reasons (price, mintage, launch date) and uncertainty regarding the plethora of other NCLT products sure to be flooding the market in 2017.

I think it's safe to say that the RCM will be issuing a LARGE number of 2017 commemorative products. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see just about every denomination they produce be used for at least one commemorative -- several denominations will likely have multiple issues or a series. That said, for a collector of Canada's commemorative SDs it was an easy decision for me to place my order for the new set. It's seems likely I will have to purchase a few more anniversary SDs in 2017 if I want to keep my set complete, but that's OK - a nation's 150th anniversary is a big deal and should be celebrated. I doubt, however, I will be making many non-SD purchases of anniversary commemoratives. We almost all need to draw the line somewhere!

Thank you for the "promotion" notice.
My rep never told me about it. I went online this morning and re-0rdered items so that I could get all 3 free coins. Then I sent an email to my rep to cancel what I ordered with him.
Shame on them! I am platinum prestige and I guess they believe that I do not ever go on the web.
