Not sure if this is the right forum or not. I just found this 1918 Wheat cent that looks a little strange. (Strange to me at least.). The words "IN GOD" are in this area but look fairly weak. The back looks like any other Wheat cent. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

The reason I would say lamintation is because you can still see the device even after the metal was peeled away.

There would be a small premium because of condition. Nice find.

Nice find.

Here's information on laminations: http://www.error-ref.com/?s=lamination

I don't think they are rare. But it's not something you see every day either.

They happed occasionally on the copper and silver planchets. On the Memorial ones, they are worth less than the wheat cents. But your is a nice one. Value? Hard to come up with an exact price. Memorials about .50-$1 Wheats Probably double and triple that on good ones like yours. (I may be low though)

It should be on the higher end maybe 8-10?
1. Pretty decent shape for being 98 years old.
2. Plus it looks a little MAD (of off center) on both sides 3. Lamination Peel

Thanks all! I guess I did pretty good then for only paying 1 cent for it. (Found it CRH'ing!)

Can't miss buying at face. But honestly, probably not worth very much.

That is great, don't find the Wheaties too often. When I search a $25 box I usually come up with 5 or 6.

I have been consistently finding around 15 Wheats per box! Not sure if it is my area or my luck!
