This coin was graded by NIC MS70. It's a Type2. I can't find any information on NIC. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

NIC is not a real third party grader of coins. More than likely, it is the creation of a coin dealer to sell their own wares on ebay at "inflated certified prices"- thus removing the third party part. Unfortunately, ebay is full of worthless "TPGs" such as that one and I guarantee that your coin would not grade MS70 by any reputable TPG since that grade is never seen for Ikes. I hope you didn't pay too much for it as the coin is only worth a few dollars in uncirculated condition.

Thank You, I didn't pay much for it. What about SGS, is that another one of the dealer graders?

Yes, SGS is not a good grader either.

It would probably be easier to give you a list of the legitimate TPGs rather than list the bad ones.
The first tier would consist of PCGS(generally considered to be #1), NGC, ANACS, and ICG. The second tier would consist of PCI and SEGS. Anything coming from another alphabet soup is "purchase at your own risk". The criteria for a true TPG is that they have a website and a physical street address, they take public submissions, they are not a dealer slabbing and selling their own coins(conflict of interest), and are widely accepted in the marketplace.

please be aware that there is a HUGE difference between the first tier group listed above and the second tier group listed above. And even though SEGS is mentioned in the 2nd tier group please don't get them confused with SGS they are a totally different company and even with the bad reputation SEGS has for overgrading coins (they are still a grading company)they are still way above where SGS stands in the grading game (not a grading company, just a dealer putting his inventory into plastic and calling it certified)
