Hello I know this coin is probably worth just 25 cents but it brought up a unique question I have yet to come across...how would I go about identifying a coin with 2 errors on it? I imagine on this one I'd just match the DDR since I haven't seen a counter clash list. But is there a order in wich coins with multiple errors are researched and identified?

Ty in advance! O yea found this coin in my laundromats change machine while doing laundry =)

Aye John you are probably 100% right, I wouldn't see how a clash and a DDR could happen but the "doubling" I'm seeing is only happened on the west side of the lettering and not all around the letters wich from what I've seen is indicative on MD.

I know this coin isn't worth anything or has any premium, and honestly if anyone has a fancy for these types of coins I'll mail it to you free. But it just made me think of a question I'd never seen asked or answered before that I've seen.

If a coin has multiple errors, let's say DD and a RPM. Would I first try to match it to similar DD'S and comment that it's also a RPM or vice versa? Basically how would someone go about identifying and labeli g there coin? Is there a ladder or list of wich error would trump another?

P.s. want to hire a personal error coin guru to build a relationship with and become long time friends with. This hobby has taken off for me and could use more personalized help. Will pay in silver eagles =) also I will be at the PCGS show in December when it hits my home town HOUSTON!! Could offer ya room and lodging in a nice area of my city and transport to the show and around town =)

Reverse does look like a clash. Both dies are showing their age. Obverse die looks like the outline of the bust and the fields are gone. Just a very tired set of dies.

Doesn't matter which one you match first. If it is a DDO the RPM could be a marker and vice-a/verse-a.

Coppercoins has a listing for a DDO and RPM on the same coin. They call it a dual variety

It is the same coin, but it has two varieties. This doesn't happen often though. Usually it is one or the other. It is also possible to have a DDO and DDR on the same coin. That is also a dual variety.
But your coin is from a normal pair of dies (no doubled die) with a die clash on reverse of a VLDS die.
