Should I Bother Grading? 1940-S And 1960-S Half Dollars, 1920-S Peace Dollars

goterps04 Valued Member United States 61 Posts	Posted 09/25/2016 3:17 pm Newb here. I have inherited about 30 coins, some in coin flips and some in jars. I am wondering whether or not it is worthwhile to grade them first, or go directly to ebay. That may be a pretty open ended question, but I'm not sure where to start. Here are pictures of a few samples. Sorry if they are not in focus, I need to get better with my pictures. Thanks for your opinion on the matter. Report this Post to the Staff

llewellin Pillar of the Community United States 1005 Posts	Posted 09/25/2016 4:43 pm The coins you posted here do not appear to be particularly high grade and are not rare, so I would recommend against sending any of them in for grading before you sell since you are unlikely to recoup that investment. Some here say that grading only starts to make financial sense for resale value once the value of the coin exceeds several hundred dollars. Report this Post to the Staff
