My dad has bugged me about this coin for a couple of days now and I can't find it anywhere! On the front shield there is no "Liberty" and I would say it could be due to wear but lines go down the shield without a gap from where the liberty would be. Finally the most interesting part... On the reverse the coin has "In God We Trust." That wasn't put on the coins until 1866! New to this forum and need some help! Thank you.

It's a Chinese counterfeit, and a poorly made one at that. If all Chinese counterfeits were this bad, there wouldn't be a Chinese counterfeiting problem.

I encountered these for about $2 each when I was in Iraq. They're being sold there as 'fantasy coins'.

They also had a few pretty good fakes which were sold as real and for higher prices, though...
