We've been talking about George I copper, we've been talking about residual mint red.
Here's another of mine which I'm sure US members of the forum will approve of.
Nicely struck (for one of these), particularly the obverse.

With this monitor I can't say much about the originality of the luster, but that is a nice coin with lots of detail. It is far superior to mine.

Thanks. Yes, I think I overdid the contrast a little when preparing the images. The colour isn't quite so harsh when seen 'in the hand'.

This is more representative of how it actually looks.

Hogarth, welcome to the CCF
I hope you don't take this the wrong way but having collected and studied Colonial/Post Colonial issues as my area of interest for quite some time, as well as US Large Cents/Half Cents, your coin is corroded and has been cleaned to bring out that "red" you know see.
It's a nice detailed example but unfortunately..a problem cleaned one around XF details.

Hi V.
No, I don't mind at all, thanks for the useful information. I must admit, as the coin falls outside my main sphere of interest, I hadn't paid much attention to it before now and had only dug it out to show here as most members are in the US where I know they are collected.
I'm sure you're right, the colour does look a little atypical.
