What Does It Mean When Your Package Is "Forwarded"?

So I sent a package a few days ago, and I sent the other person a tracking number. Today he checked the tracking number, and the USPS Website said "Your item was forwarded to a different address at 10:53 am. This was because of forwarding instructions or because the address or zip code on the label was incorrect."What does this mean? The other guy said he didn't move or anything... Any Idea? Help me!

If they had a hold mail, usually used by vacationers, it will show as a forward to hold until the mail is picked up or is again scheduled for delivery.

That's one possibility.
