You know that moment you say to yourself... "Man wouldn't it be embarrassing if a metal detectorist lost his own key while out hunting?!" ...and then you realize by the time you get back to your car it has become a self fulfilling prophecy?! Yeah one of those nights! And to top it off it was dark out!

So only the second hunt of the year for me; just getting back into the swing of things (see what I did there?)... And I'm still using this darn bounty hunter... That CTX 3030 can't get here fast enough!! But a quick report: last week: one whole zincholn...
This week:
One quarter, clad
Two dimes, still clad
One nickel
One top of a fence post, cheap galvanized
One zipper pull
And two chewed up pencil eraser metal pieces!

Hardest $0.50 I've ever earned! And I swear to goodness earthworms are made of metal!

I know where you're coming from. I locked my keys in my trunk on a cold snowy morning last spring when I went back to the car to change the battery on my pin-pointer.

My wife was on her way out of town to visit her sister when I called her and she had to drive twenty miles to rescue me with the spare set of keys.

One US detectorist that I follow on U-tube hides his car keys just as he starts his hunt. Most of his searches are in woods that were civil war sites.Has't lost a set yet.

Luckily my '13 Fusion has keyless entry located on the door pillars. Too bad I can't find the combination, but I slightly remember the Ford dealer giving me a small piece of paper with the combo.

It's also located inside the car, underneath the fuse box that must first be manually removed.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...
Roll hunting since '77
Dirt fishing since '72
