I think this probably falls under the category of notgeld, but I thought it especially interesting for three reasons.

First, it's early, having been authorized before the armistice.

Second, the denomination at 5 marks was still considerable at that time.

Finally, its size at 82 x 119 mm is larger than what's usually seen.

This is referred to as Grossgeld in the German cataloguing system for notgeld.
