Hi,

I got this coin mixed in with others. I'm sorry to say that unless I've used a counties coins to buy beer there's no way I would recognize it.

Unless I'm mistaken, it is an 1870 Belgium 2 centimes coin.

Not too sure about value, but a nice find nonetheless!

And the reverse says "Leopold II King of Belgium"--but of course you knew that!

You probably could have bought a beer for 2 cents in 1870. According to Krause the value is 25 cents in F and $1 in VF.

Any idea of the grade? I only ask because if it's not a high enough grade then the value has not even kept up with inflation over the years.
Only kidding! I appreciate all the help and am pleasantly surprised by how quickly you recognize the coin.
