Would appreciate thoughts & attribution confirmation, or any other information -- relying on seller's scans.

Please correct any mistakes on my part as my knowledge is very limited!

First coin: Julia Domna AR denarius? 20mm
I believe this is RIC IV.1-564 but not sure 100%.

Obv: IVLIA AVGVSTA, draped bust right.
Rev: MATER DEVM, Cybele w/scepter & branch seated with lions and drum

Second coin: Philip I AR Antoninianus, 24mm
I believe this one is RIC IV.3-4 / Sear III 8946

Don't see an officina letter -- this may have been before the officinae were marked... an early Rome mint, or possibly an Eastern branch mint?

Obv: IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG, draped bust right, radiate, cuirassed, with beard

Rev: PM TR P IIII COS P P, Felicitas stands left w/caduceus and cornucopia

The reverse caduceus is very upright and close and somewhat differently shaped up top vs. some of the other examples I can find when searching through Sear.

They were not very expensive so if I bought fakes or poor quality coins my feelings won't be hurt (too) much (and seller has a 14 day return.)

Thanks! AB

Two nice coins. The first one is RIC IVi 564, and the second is also correct but you missed one letter on the reverse legend. PM TR P IIII COS PP.

Nice coins. I am very much becoming a fan of the silver coins from the Severan period up through Valerian... most of them are cheap and plentiful, and they are usually well-made with good portraits. The Philip I in particular has a very nice reverse... must have been a very fresh die!

The Philip I antoninianii I've seen typically have one side or the other poorly rendered. Whether this is due to one die being worn or because of the method of production during this period is an open issue. In any event, I'd judge your specimen to be far better than the norm in this regard. It's also decently centered and the flan well rounded. Congratulations on a very nice find, and it's all the better if you only paid the sort of money lower quality examples command.
