1999 D, Doubled Ear? No Listing, Maybe A Red Herring.

Thoughts on this 1999 D, the lobe looks doubled as well as the outer upper edge of the ear. I'll admit there looks like there could have been a hit to the die at the proximal portion of the lobe; it looks suspicious. An up/down comparison picture included here with another 99D, arrows point to the parts of the ear I see as doubled. Without a listing however this is likely a red herring, but who knows. Thoughts?

It looks like a better strike to me. There was an issue with the 2006 cents that was a doubled die:

Here is a side by side of a normal and DO-001:
1999-D,-Doubled-Ear?-No-Listing,-Maybe-A-Red-Herring.
You can see there was a bit of a stronger difference that year on the DDO. But the term thickening was used and not a doubled earlobe. So I feel the 1999 is just a better strike of the coin. Not a doubled ear. Note on the last two images the difference in strength of the hair/beard areas. It is just a better strike.

Thanks coop, thanks for the comparisons. I looked at the 2006. I'll put this one aside and compare other 99D's too.
