I'm sorry but I have to kindly disagree. Almost impossible to take a hit in between his lips and not show damage to something else.

It is not impossible, and hits can make things look different. Think of the striking process. How could this of happend during the minting process. It couldn't have.

On the last image you can see the incuse area and just above it where it displaced part of the lip raising it a bit. Bag marks happen all the time. This one was just well placed.
