Cropped sellers photos and not my own. Gonna be honest and say I basically asking for reasons not to try and buy them. But besides that I truly can't grade Washington quarters well, especially picking between the higher grades. For these I'm asking if with the wear and bag marks they stick in the EF/XF range or not. The obverse of all of them seem to be in contrast to the reverse. I understand the pictures aren't lit well, but what do you guys think? 1941-S: 1943-D: 1943-S:

All 3 of these are common dates easily obtained in MS for very little more than XF. For the three you display here they would be VF then XF then AU in that order.
None show signs of cleaning, which is a plus. But, honestly, I'd hold off a bit and wait for MS examples. They are easy to find.

The second coin appears to have a bit of damage or a die chip on the B in LIBERTY. It's the kind of thing that I would want to see in person -- not sure I'd buy it though.
If you don't really want them, take moxking's advice and hold out for better ones.

I understand and I'm not really wanting to buy hole fillers, but what price would I be looking at for these dates/MMs in MS? My collection is pretty modest. I'm not really looking to go the $30-$40 a piece it seems it would take on ebay for non-cleaned/scrubbed, BU/MS coins.

If you don't want to spend $30-$40 for mid MS coins then maybe you should look into mid to upper AU . If buying from e-bay , look carefully at sellers photos . stay away from heavy scratches, rim dents , and heavy bag marks . No reason why you can't pick these up for $11 -$15 .

Exactly - I would not purchase any of these.

all of these would be about $5-$10 maybe $15 each at most coin shops. if you have the patience and your lcs has a 90% silver coin bin, similar examples might show up for cheap from time to time.

Alright, I'll try and practice some patience. Appreciate the help.
FWIW these would have been about double melt - $6.50 or so a piece including shipping.

For $6.50 each and they filled a hole I would consider buying them. If you missed out don't fret similar examples will come around again

I have a feeling these coins might look a little better in hand. Also ... look at what your looking for in you set. Once you decide to go AU/BU for a few coins it might lead to doing all the coins in the same grades. Doing a full AU/BU set will cost a lot more than doing a VF/XF set. Buy what will make you happy. If you pay a few dollars extra per coin, that can be part of this being a hobby. For Washington quarters ... stay away for problem coins. It could be a fun challenge to put a nice set of XF problem free 1932 - 1964 Washington quarters together.
