There is the new 100/100 Elk released today as well as the 25/25 elf. I really really like the 25/25 Elf face value coin. He is in green. Adorable.

I got the same email. Reduced allowance for $100 coin is 3 each. I only ordered one. But I am getting 5 of the elf coins - for Christmas stockings.

Do these coins still go toward MC membership? Some people say yes, some say no. Someone at the Vancouver Mint Boutique says they don't go to MC membership anymore.

They also lowered the mintage of the elk 100 for 100 by 20,000 coins. It's the lowest mintage of all the 100 for 100s, they are usually 50k.

The elf coin seems the nicest of the Christmas $X for $X coins yet. But I'm going to pass.

The Elf coin is great for Christmas. I ordered 4 but only 1 of $100/100. I have only one of each left in my $100.00 face value series. I plan to continue with the series especially the 200/200 face value coins. Those are the best!

To answer the question from MoneyPenny - The (x for x) coins count toward your MC thresholds (i.e. silver, gold, platinum levels) BUT they don't count toward "spend XX and get a free gift" and neither do they count toward the end of the year rebate (or credit? dunno) that they give to MC members.

The elf coin looks good and will be popular, it should sell well.
Cheers!

I don't get the statement it should sell well. Do you mean the mint or secondary market? Seems folks take a loss after fees selling any of these. I don't know why people don't price this sort of item so they can at least make a few bucks. Or maybe doing ebay is about making little numbers next to your name go up?

Who wants to sell this coin on secondary market? I believe the comment was that the elf coin should sell well at RCM for the holiday season. It is a good looking 25/25 face value coin that should appeal to the masses in general. Nothing more:)))))

Cute lil guy on the coin regardless, I didn't know what meant by sell well. just was lookin and they're selling on ebay for 29.64 cdn with free shipping costs a couple bucks to ship and about 14% in ebay and PayPal fees. Can people get these for cheaper than 25$ through the mint or eBayer just likes losing? Seems kind of strange someone would do that is all

Do not know about ebay sellers. I have never sold a coin. I have bought off of ebay and who knows, this could be sellers who are just trying to keep their MC status by purchasing many and reselling at cost. Or it could be RCM in disguise. Lol

My apologies, I meant the coin "should sell well for RCM". It is cute, green, and already being promoted by RCM in their advertising. Also a good price point at $25 for folks looking to buy as gifts. Cheers!
