Except for the special loonie featured in each set, all of the other coins included use the "traditional" circulation designs vs. the 150th anniversary commemorative designs.

From the RCM web site "These uncirculated coins with traditional designs have been carefully selected to provide you with the best examples of their kind."

The web site images showing the traditional designs appear to be there by design rather than by accident.

I like the O Canada set. The leaf loonie looks okay. It's nice to have the option of getting a regular-design toonie this year. The lower denominations I might sell or keep - not sure.

Now I am holding my breath for a set with a regular loon dollar...

Not for very long! The 2017 "Classic Coin" Set (aka Uncirculated Set) will be what you're looking for. It should be appearing on RCMs website within a day or two.

$24.95
Mintage 75,000

"For Canada's 150th anniversary, only special commemorative coin designs will be issued for circulation. However, this set allows collectors the opportunity to get the complete set of six coins including the scarce half dollar denomination, all with the classic designs that will not be available in circulation. All of the coins are in superb numismatic uncirculated condition.

The designs on the six coins in this collection showcase some of Canada's most famous iconography."

The welcome to the world silver coins went from a mintage of 10,000 to 15,000 and now 25,000. This is getting silly.

Yes, this is truth

The 2017 - the first year for gold "Welcome to the world"
Probably, this is the reason, that the Mint increased the Mintage for silver coin, to introduce the gold one and to make it more special.
