Sorry about the poor quality image. What am I looking at? Is it just a very worn coin or did something go wrong with the plating? There is a crack around the back that looks like you could peel off the plating (and probably could).

I can't make out the date, but it sure doesn't look like zinc. It may be a Dryer Coin.

. At first I thought the date was 1960 or 1968. As I looked closer I'm fairly certain it is 1990. If it is the 1990 date then indeed you would be able to peel the entire back off this coin because it is copper plated zinc (this was started in 1982). It appears that this coin has lived a hard life on the streets or at least in someone's pocket, this is all post mint damage. I think it is really cool that you noticed and saved this coin. Keep it up and ask questions, before you know it you will be a true coin collector.

I dunno, it looks like 1960-D to me. QuestionMark, can you tell us the date?

Is the coin reduced in size/weight? If so then it is PSD. The rims seem to be missing? So I'm thinking an alteration. Looks like a Dryer Coin from what I can see.
