Well I took a second lunch break from work and went back to the bank fo america where I found all those silvers (final tally from first trip: $100 in halves 128 90% 44 40%)
I asked the teller how many rolls of halves they had left and he went to the manager-looking guy near the safe area. The manager came over and (rather meanly) told me the last teller was never supposed to give me those rolls and they don't allow 'dealers' to purchase coin rolls.
Too bad. If I had know the first time I woulda bought every last half dollar in that place.

oh and if anyone's curious the Bank of America I'm posting about is the branch in North Haven, CT.
They aren't going to give them to me but maybe someone on here from CT can give it a shot?
Good luck

$1028 in silver That's Crazy that they won't let ya have em! Must be a bank employee that collects as well or someone wants to sell them themselves. I'd honestly call the branch manager...or higher.

"They aren't going to give them to me but maybe someone on here from CT can give it a shot?" Right--have a friend of yours pick them up for you. I can't understand why that bank need to be so difficult...if you ask me that manager seems like a "grumpy old coin dealer"

What, what a score!! You could always ask to see the manager and suggest that you might do your banking elsewhere, since the service at this bank isn't what it used to be. And suggest you might write letters to higher executives...You still might be able to get those halves yourself with a little persistence and also reassurance that you are not a dealer.

if some bank official called me a dealer I think I would be offended and shown my little rear end

I think anyone has a right to have money any way you want it!

Wow. I keep getting already searched rolls from Bank of America and Wachovia here in town. However the next town over has a Wachovia I drive 14.3 miles too because every time I go there I always find 40% silver half dollars. Only a few - three yesterday.
What you pulled out seems like a glitch maybe someone set those aside to buy or something - just insane.
