I think the weakness of the strike is due to the thinness of the planchet. When I get a chance I'll put the calipers on it to get a true thickness measurement. On to the important part, the pictures. This is due to the fact that the thickness without that extra clad layer was reduced and the strike was weak because of the missing clad layer. The weight will also be reduced a bit.
