The Krugerrand is worth its weight in gold, nothing more. These were made in different weights, 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and full ounce coins.

The 5 Pound (assuming Great Britain) coin trades with the value of its gold, but will also carry a significant premium, about 10% over the value of the gold.

Thank you. It's a full ounce krugerrand and the £5 is Great Britain.
Do you have a rough price I'm looking at selling so I can purchase a piece of jewellery to replace them.
Many thanks.

The current spot price of gold is (US) $1258/oz. That would be the value of the Krugerrand. The 5 pound coin contains 1.1175 oz, so probably ~ $1675 retail value.
