I took the plunge to bid on and win this very nice George II Half Penny that has been graded "AU-55 Brown" by NGC.

I've long wanted to have a high grade 18th century half penny and this one will be a prized addition to my collection.

I haven't received it yet, but the seller's photos are pretty nice.

Thought I'd share it with others who like British coppers.

Sorry. I uploaded the obverse photo twice.

Here's the reverse photo . . . I hope.

There seems to be too much wear on the high points to be an AU coin for what I see.
Accept this grading while you are ahead !

This copper series was very prone to wear on the leaves of the head garland and the eye of the King (obv.), and the hair, right leg and the high points of the shield (rev).

Uncirculated copper of George 11 is quite rare, (and thus bring big prices at public auction), because they saw heavy circulation.

Nice coin.
I agree with Sel regarding grade.Approx VF in UK grade.
The old adage of buy the coin and not the slab rings true.
Copper coins were in a shortage in this period (hence many non regal coins circulating).Your regal coin was kindly treated by the time Gods.
