Not sure, but maybe a mod could move this to the World Forum, and get some better opinions.

Most likely. Like late Chinese cash, the late Vietnamese cash are only worth a buck or two each.

One one hand, they are not worth much per coin and therefore not worth faking.
On the other hand, because the originals were cast, they are very easily faked, and it would be quite easy to make very good quality fakes, enough to fool most people.

That is why, when I buy these types of coins I will only pay a dollar or so for them. Decades ago, I was buying cast cash Chinese coins of Ming and earlier dynasties, for 20 to 30 cents each. Life is much easier with a copy of Schoth.

With the sort of presentation shown in thse pictures, probably reasonable value for money either way, despite the fact that these fakes? could fool me as well. I am humble enough to admit that.

Nevertheless, I would have to have a hard look at them 'in hand' first, before I would make a decision to buy, and take the risk.

Welcome to the forum.

I am the resident skeptic when it comes to numismatic forgery. I have spent 60 years studying the motivations and methods of forgery.

These appear to be "mass" produced - just like the Chinese sets that are even more common. Many, in some cases, the majority, are modern reproductions. These are glued onto a sheet of heavy paper. The older versions of these sets were hand stitched on cardboard. The extremely poor quality of the photographs and the way it is sealed in plastic (by hand) all remind me of numerous rip-offs found in the street markets in tourist areas.

As indicated the price is not bad even for forgeries (which appear faithful in terms of design). Good as space fillers anyway.
