I absolutely LOVE the look of liquid metal. The SMS Jeffersons exhibit this quite well too.

I for one, love the look of the fully brilliant proofs. I wish the mint would make some again, maybe on a special edition ASE, or even a full proof set. Your coin has not only escaped toning that is common in 1950s and early 1960s nickels, it is also a very well struck coin from a time when many proof nickels were somewhat soft. A PR68 at least! PCGS has only judged 132 1957 Jefferson proofs as PR68, two PR69, and no PR70s. Please reassure us that your coin has not been plated. Also, excellent pictures.

They do still make them. They just call them bullion issue 5oz ATB's

Imagine the detail the 5oz ATB-Ps would have had if they had deliberately made them brilliant proofs instead of doing the post-strike burnishing.

Brilliant is nice, but nothing compares to an ultra deep cameo proof .
