It looks like a near 6 that has a damaged top of the 6 giving it the look of a Far 6... But I just want to hear from everyone else in case I'm wrong here.

How about far 6 that the damage has made the 6 appear closer.

Nice find!

I don't know...The tip of the "6" is generally more parallel to the leaf on a far but the shape seems correct. It could be the slant. I'd say far.

On a 'far' six, the top of the 6 is always tipped a bit to the left, this one looks like someone has taking a bit of the 6 off.

That is a far 6.
An easy way to tell is to draw a line from the tip of the one
across the top of the 2.
If there is space between the line and the loop of
the 6, it is a far 6.
If the line touches the loop, it is a near 6.

I've always used an imaginary line drawn across the bottom of the 2 as shown in the photos.
After a while you get accustomed to I'Ding them this way and it becomes instinctive.
I favour this way because someone can play around with the tip of the six but they can't move the bottom.

Cheers, Bill

So based on the bottom line to determine if it's a near or far, my feeling is it's a near.
