2002 S Nickle Need To Know If It Is Silver Or Clad

I found a 2002 S nickle in circulation looks like mint how would you tell if it is silver or clad?

If you're talking a U.S nickel, the only silver ones you'd find are from 1942-1945. I don't think Canada ever made silver nickels, but I'm not sure.

Neither silver nor clad. Nickels only had silver in them during WWII, otherwise they are a copper nickel alloy. The term "clad" refers to coins that have a core and outer layers, like a 1965 and newer dime or quarter.

What he said above.

It is made of nickel.

And if it has an S mintmark it is a proof.

It could have come from a silver proof set but it was not one of the silver coins in the set and without the holder you could never prove provenance not that it would have any bearing on the value unless the TPG's have a new label in the works to fleece the sheeple.
