First of all, I am kind of new in this forum so hello all.

I am thinking of transferring coins into albums. I am looking at old type Whitman Bookshelf albums, and the Library of Coins albums. These two are more complete regarding type sets. I would like to know if anyone out there has stored coins in these for a long period of time. Do they contain sulfur in the paper or PVC in the plastic? Are they archival quality? Safety for the coins is paramount. I am interested in long term storage and welcome any comments or ideas.

Thanks

Surf them up and see what the manufacturer (and others) say about them.
Rest in Peace

I have kept a lot of my coins in blue Whitman albums for decades . I'm not aware of any sulfur or pvc in these albums ,but I have not had a problem with this .
for further protection I've been storing my albums in large zip-lock bags. These bags DONOT contain PVC .

Whitman albums should be fine. I prefer Dansco, but many members have used Whitman for a long time without problems.

I have been looking at other threads in the forums and it seems people have very good luck with both. I am essentially looking for the most complete type set albums I can find. I think the library of coins albums fit the bill as they have holes for the 1853 arrows and rays 25 and 50 cent pieces. Although, strangely enough, not the Ty2 Three Cent? Thanks all, I appreciate all the help!

I have seen Whitman albums come into the shop, where the
coins have been in them for over 50 years. And the coins
looked good.

Somewhere I have a older Whitman type album, I would agree
they are more complete. So complete there are some very
expensive holes to fill.

I've been using Whitman Albums for a long, long time and no complaints.
