So My grandma just gave me an old collection of over 100 Silver Dollars (Morgans & Peace) that her husband has had in his closet for 70 years. Going through them I found a 1882-P Morgan that has a Wired Rim that comes off the top of the Obverse of the coin. I have been searching everywhere to find another like it and I can't so I am hoping someone here can help. Sorry for the not so great pictures. I will try and get a better picture today sometime.

to the Coin Community Family!

I can't help you with this particular Morgan, but from the angle of the photos it appears that this is a circulated coin, right?

Also from the photos, I see a jar of what appears to be e.Z.est coin cleaner in the backgroud with a dipping tool. They're your coins but if you want to preserve the value of old coins, don't clean them in any way. Coins that have been dipped are easy to spot by a potential buyer.

Otherwise, good coin, and there are a lot of folks on here that specialize in Morgs so you should have an answer soon.

to CCF!! As biedercoins said! DO NOT CLEAN IT! This will destroy any potential value. What are you referring to as "wire rim"?
Rest in Peace

Without more photos I am in the PMD camp. What is a wire rim anyways?
