I recently picked up a 1957 25c PL65 ICCS, for $40. It is a beautiful coin but isn't that a bit steep? Edited by Panthercham 03/21/2008 09:25 am

Seems to me too...Charlton's 2008 lists $35, and I think they're already high. Where did you get it--eBay?

I agree with Kurt $40 is a bit on the high side.
ICCS is known to ignore cameos so that might play in your favor.
Got any pictures to share?

It looks like some cameo. I got it at colonial acres. I also got ICCS 1965 PL65 heavy cameo, 1962 MS 64, 1964 PL65 heavy cameo. Pics later.

Fourteen 1957 MS65 25 cent pieces sold on ebay throughout 2007 for average price of $16.08 Canadian. You did pay too much based on ebay results.

Zonad, Are sure it was MS-65? I would expect to see certified MS-65 to sell for much more than $16.

An honest mistake Zonad.
My personal opinion: I prefer PL-65 over MS-65 so (rarity aside) I am more than happy to pay less for a better looking coin.

Its all about scarcity. Some PL65 are less than MS65 and vice versa.
