Picked this one for approx $25 cdn. The double 1955 is not listed on the holder. Might have it cross-graded or regraded by either ICCS or NGC. Any recommendations, thoughts? *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Send it in to ICCS for a cross grade, and maybe point out the double date. It'll be the cheapest alternative, you get to keep it in ICG's holder and it'll probably have the best resell value

Not worth the effort, that's why you got it for such price

Nice find! It's a DDR. Worth about a grand if it crosses at MS65 Definitely worth sending to ICCS.

Fantastic job!
I fully agree with the $6 ICCS cross-grade and leave it in the ICG holder...best resale value by far...

Very heavy mottled toning but surfaces look very nice upon close inspection. I figure MS64-65 ICCS and yeah, I'm glad I took the time to zoom in on what maybe looked like an over-grade to some which is why the lack of and low bids. There are a few gems out there on ebay, not a lot but a few. Am also waiting on an 1859 One cent 180 degree rotated axis. Not a high grade (maybe F-VF) but it's pretty rare just the same.

How did the title magically change? It wasn't about a DDR until I identified it as such. The new title trivializes those who posted before me. Can't blame some of them for deleting their posts.

Not sure what you mean about the title change but I know the placement of the post was changed by the admin to another forum category... I never touched the title.

With this type of toning and these pictures, I think, it is very hard to tell what the grade is. You have to trust the TPG is right .. or at least close to the correct grade. The value of this coin is that it is a double die and the MS 65 grade. I think to get the bigger money it needs to be in a better than ICG holder. But good chance it wont cross grade at MS 65. The coin is what it is .. send it into ICCS, PCGS or NGC and see what a better TPG says.

I have to agree with you GR58, I will most likely have it regraded and have it reslabbed.

I think this might end up an ICCS 64. There are a few hits in the fields. In front of the queen's shoulder, under the caribou's mouth.

ICG tend to wildly overgrade and not mention cleaned coins, but good luck with this unit

I agree MS64 with ICCS Paulsz...maybe NGC would be more generous.
