Hi everyone, I stumbled upon this Sassanian coin for sale. And I'm curious if you agree that it is a contemporary counterfeit/imitation. If you believe it is an imitation, is there any way of guessing from where it might have originated? Thanks!

Looks like Peroz I, and it looks like an official issue. I am not good with Pahlavi, so I can't tell the difference between literate or illiterate imitation there.

He was taken hostage by the Huns in 469, and the enormous ransom paid in these coins made them the de facto trade currency of the Silk road. When his coins became worn or too thinly spread, the Huns made imitations; then the vassals of the Huns made imitations and so on for nearly 1,000 years.

It is Peroz and an official issue. I've seen coins of his that are well executed with very clear details and others that have terrible details all official issues. This one isn't bad.
