My wife spent a roll of 1964 halves thinking they were the regular halves we use up from my roll hunting

ouch now that must burn. You should go back to that store and see if you can buy them back. Thats probably what I would have done.

You know, we spend so many halves from roll hunting I don't even know where that roll was spent. Just gotta laugh at it now. We use halves everywhere. Fast food, groceries, post office, tips, office supplies...

oh man, that hurts. This makes me want to educate my wife on all my coins so she don't get any ideas.

It was really my fault. I accidentally put that silver roll next to the clads that we already looked through. I just noticed it when it was time to put the rolls in the safe that 1 was missing.

a buddy of mine, Jim, had a huge box full of half dollars his aunt had gotten from a Las Vegas casino like 15 years ago. Most were 80s and 90s, but we pulled out around 25 66s and 67s. No 90% coins but plenty of 40s.
Anyway we wrapped up them up and put the silvers in red wrappers, regulars in tan.
His mom cashed them all in at the bank not realizing we had seperated.
Not as bad as a roll of 64s, but darn.

Try not to take it so bad. Many of us have had things like that happen. I once sent a bunch of Indian Head cents to a kid for a present. They were in a box and I stuffed the box with cotton so they wouldn't rattle. He opened the box, saw just cotton and threw it away thinking I forgot his present. Things just happen.

I would have laid down and died if that had happened to me.

Actually, that's a good point about getting them from roll hunting.
So, you really only paid $0.50 for each of them. Hopefully, that takes a bit of the hurt away - ok, not really, but I tried.....

Take it this way, you'll make someone else's day by recirculating them back into the country otherwise they are going to be extinct quite fast.

That hurts, but think of it this way. You find some, now you spent some so other's can find them. It's kinda coming whole circle.
