I found this 1943 Mercury dime and seems to be a D/D mintmark error but I'm not sure. Can you guys help me out?

That little tiny hit just right of the top of the upright on the D makes it looks like something strange, but it is just a ding.

I think it is a "ding" of some kind as well.

I know that 1943-D is a common date and there are probably different styles for the 'D' mintmark, but it looks strange to me. Despite the 'ding' at the top of the 'D' there appears to be no serif at the bottom. The left side of the mintmark is almost completely straight. This is not typical of mintmarks at that time. Maybe it's just me.
