Since its so well cleaned already, I'd get rid of that distracting black spot on the obverse.
Nice buy for $19. I would have nabbed it for that price too.

Who puts a $500 plus key date in the junk bin? I would gladly pay $25 for a 93S in the same junk bin. Have you check the die marking to confirm the coin is genuine?

Good god. I hope it's real - that's a steal if so. This one and this other one went for quite a bit of money in similar condition.

I see some surface disturbance in the mint mark area...

The date position appears correct but I'm not able to make out if any of the die markers are present. Have you compared it to the VAMworld photos?

Send it in to ANACS for a quick authentication.

Very very good buy.... I would check with VAM world ... to see if it lines up with a known VAM. At some point send it into ANACS. That fills a very hard hole in a Morgan set.

Date position matches die #1, see if you can get a close up picture of the gap between the eagle's left leg and tail feathers -- there should be a very visible die gouge. Also see if you can get a good close-up picture of the inside of the wreath ribbon bow.
The toning where the MM would be does not match the other surfaces, which concerns me, as this is common on defaced 1894-O's where the mintmark has been removed, and there are a whole lot more of those out there than genuine 1894's.

Looks like a removed "S" mint mark to me. I do not see the heavy polishing lines in the ribbon bow or left leg-tail feather gap, but if you have a 10x or so magnifier or loupe, see if you can see the heavy polishing lines there. If so, you may have the real deal & need to get it out for authentication ASAP!

The polishing lines are there on the bow when I use my 8x loupe, but I'm not positive about the left leg/tail area. It's probably worth sending out just to get confirmation.
