Hi.
Any one else noticed how cheaply made 2015-2016 coins are? I've been finding tons of die chips and the dots are often filled.

In terms of good varieties, I've found 4 2016 quarters than have fading ELIZ, one of which has a huge die chip on the top of the queens head (Pics soon).

And you!

Seems to be more worried about size and weights, rather than quality

Collectors want nice coins.
Taxpayers want inexpensive, long lasting, and secure coins.
Non-collecting taxpayers win every time, the penny is gone and soon the nickel.
The mint wants collectors to buy NCLT, there is no extra profit to be had by supplying quality business strikes.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Fair enough, the economy is important.

And here are the quarters:

The 2015 coins are fine.

But I'm noticing significant issues with 2016 coins, especially the missing beads.

I found a couple small die cracks for 2015, I think the nickels more than any other coin. But note that I didn't go through rolls, more so just looking at my changed under a magnifying glass whenever I saw a really nice coin that I thought would be high grade.

Missing beads and minor die chips seem to happen on almost all 2015-2016 quarters, but I believe the one's that may be worth hoarding are the ones that have some of their devices messed up or even gone, such as the 4 2016 quarters I've found that have ELIZ fading.

I noticed in the four or five 2016 dimes that I have, every single example has various "fading" on the beads around the rim... twenty years ago this would have been a big deal, but maybe this is what were facing in a time where the mint is more interested in bettering margins, than being what was once heralded to be the maker of the highest quality coinage...

Well, it's a small sign on how much stress the government is under with it's overdue bills.

I'm all for crime! Here's to it.
