Well, PCGS population for AU-58 BN is 16, 5 have sold in the past 3 years ranging from $19.9K to $30.5K. None of those 5 were the same coin sold twice or this coin. 2921.58/81289156, one of the 5, sold at Stacks/Bowers for $25,850.00 in August of this year and is currently up for auction at Legend, current bid $24,000.00. Of the two that went for $30,550.00 this coin looks slightly between the two in appearance to me. It should go for around $27K-$30K.

Here is the link to the one at Legend: http://legendauctions.hibid.com/lot...?ref=catalog

I do however hold one curious question about this auction. Why would a coin that should sell for over $25,000.00 need a shipping charge of $5.99?

I've been watching it, too, although I have no intention of bidding on it. These "big coins" help give us a gauge as to market direction. Jovian has listed good information on past sales.

If the $20,000+ coins are selling well, it's usually good for the whole hobby, even if only a small fraction could afford such beasts.

While you are there on the bay you can check out a Stella for sale. They don't come up too often either. Starting bid of only 300K less one cent.

I have an AU 55 that I found so I'm following closely, just wondering if this is the appropriate market? Seems more for Great Collections or auction houses...any insight on why go ebay route?

If I may ask, do you mean that you have a 1969 S DDO Memorial cent? What were the circumstances when you found it?
