I got this quarter as change from 7-11 and I immediately noticed that there was something wrong with it. I tried to look up info on it but I could not find anything. The closest thing I found was a penny that had a similar problem and the defect was listed as "unusual brackage". i dont see how it can be PMD if the extra ring around it is raised metal.

 to CCF! It appears to me it's the same type of ring caused by the machine that rolls coin as well. The bottom of the first coin in a roll gets pounded quite hard. Here's more photos: http://goccf.com/t/268531
