MeadowviewCollector Pillar of the Community United States 4409 Posts	Posted 12/10/2016 6:55 pm Starting in 2012, the US Mint struck circulation finish quarters with an S Mint mark. These coins were only available for purchase from the US Mint in 40 coin rolls or 100 coin bags. From your description the coin in question has toned---state quarters onward stored in paper rolls acquire a yellowish hue. It is possible that someone cherrypicked the best examples from one of the sources I listed above and dumped the rest for face value. -MV Report this Post to the Staff
