Under the eye, the nose, left of the nostril, the upper lip, and I think some on the bottom lip. Hold Ctrl and click + a few times.

It is reducing those areas, so I'm thinking Machine damage after the strike.

Yes, I see it definitely reducing the nose. It has a strong separation line, incused I think. Maybe someone did this?

No I feel it happened after the strike. The die struck and then bounced afterward, and it damaged upper parts of the coin, leaving the lower devices not affected. If this was hub doubling, all devices would have been affected.

I wasn't saying hub doubling. I think maybe someone scored it?

We look at images and everything looks so large, but put a coin under a microscope and try touching something with a toothpick. The tooth pick looks huge. So I doubt if anyone could have damaged the coin. Looks more to me that the die movement altered it after the bounce of the strike.

Here's some better pics, it looks like incuse lines. Maybe on the same order as the Hobo nickels were made? There's even a line on the underside of the tip of the nose. Would the die bouncing produce these incuse lines? You the man Coop, never any doubt about that. What say ye now?

Well as I mentioned earlier, all these things are being reduced. I'm still thinking it is not an alteration outside the mint, but a MD bounce that was very high affecting just the highest devices on the coin. The lower height devices are not affected, just the taller ones on the coin.
