How is this brass proof specimen worth more than the same coin in platinum? NGC indicates that a 1000 were minted, but this Heritage Auction sale says that only 10 exist.

My father-in-law had one of these given ($0.00 on receipt) to him by a coin dealer with his purchase of a 1988 Swiss gold proof set (1 unze - 54 minted).

Imagine our surprise when I saw the heritage auction sale for the same specimen for $1292.50!
