found a dealer that has a set of silver proofs of PCGS 66
for 120.00
plus there is a 76 type 2 PCGS 69.

is this a good price or should I forget it and get the mint gold dime.

whats your thinking on this ?

My thinking Proofs at MS66 probably not the best choice unless your talking about Eisenhowers. How many coins in the set? Myself I would go for the gold dime from the mint and if you can find a MS70 reasonable on ebay I would go for that (what is the mint price and check the price for a MS70 on ebay) then compare the difference in price. Good luck in making a decision and remember if it makes you happy go of it!

In order to give you an informed opinion we need to know exactly what it is you are being offered.

plus a 1976s type 2 clad.69
all are PCGS

tomorrow the gold dime is available again.
the gold will be $195 or $200

I am biased. My gut says get the Ikes and forget the gold dime.

The breakdown...

There are five 40% silver proof Ikes: 71-S, 72-S, 73-S, 74-S, 76-S (silver only comes in variety 1). NumisMedia has PF-66 averaging $20 a coin, so $100 for all five.

The 1976-S Clad V2 proof 69 is $16.25, bringing the total retail price to $116.25.

However, the prices I gave you are for non-cameo proofs. There are price bumps for cameo and deep cameo.

With that being said, I would offer a $100 and buy if they drop to $110. I still might buy at $120 depending on eye appeal.
